CHAMBERLAIN S. PETERSIDE, Ph.D - Founder & CEO Emeritus
Dr. Chamberlain Peterside is Founder and CEO Emeritus of New Era Capital Corp, an investment advisory firm on Wall Street with a reputation for innovative financial solutions and high-quality services. He has carved his way to success in the highly competitive financial circles on Wall Street, with nearly 20 years of extensive experience in international business, financial consulting and investment advisory activities on three continents.
Dr. Peterside graduated with doctorate degrees in finance and economics from Friendship University in Moscow. Upon completion of his studies, he launched his notable career with the bold step of starting his own company, Value-Adding Consulting Group, Inc., with bases in Moscow, London and Lagos. As a business consultant at his firm, he advised domestic and foreign companies on the intricacies and modalities of expanding their operations in the new markets of Eastern Europe and former Soviet Union.
Before establishing New Era, Chamberlain set himself apart as a Certified Financial Manager and Financial Advisor for leading organizations such as Merrill Lynch, Global Private Client Group and HSBC Brokerage USA in New York City, where he tailored or assisted with strategies for managing the asset portfolios of institutional investors and high-net-worth clients. He also served as Adjunct Associate Professor of Finance and Business Management at ASA Institute of Business Management and Advanced Technology in New York from 2003 to 2005
While on Wall Street, Dr. Peterside was involved in a premier level of wealth management, investment advisory, financial planning and corporate financial transactions on behalf of institutions and affluent individual investors. With his foresight and under his leadership, New Era Capital conceptualized and negotiated several international transactions and engaged in strategic advisory mandates on various projects in the oil/gas, maritime, infrastructure, healthcare, hospitality, real estate, telecomm and biotechnology industries on two continents.
The archetypal businessman and leader in the financial industry, Chamberlain has presented regularly at industry conferences. He speaks Russian fluently and has debated economic policy as well as social and political affairs on television networks in Russia and the United States. He appeared on CNN’s Financial Program, “In the Money,” to give his opinion on the imperative for new strategic approach in supporting reform efforts in Africa.
Aside from savvy investing and deal making, Dr. Peterside is an accomplished author with two books, Wealth Effect Part 1: Africa in the Midst of Global Economic Transformation, and Wealth Effect Part-2: Focus on Economic Reform and Sustainable Development in Nigeria. He writes in print and internet media extensively on economic policy, financial strategy and business issues.
In June 2007, the US Congress honored Dr. Peterside with the coveted Congressional Citation for his outstanding academic and professional accomplishments and unrelenting community service. In 2010, During Nigeria’s 50th independence anniversary, Chamberlain was named one of the “50 Most Distinguished Nigerian Professionals in the USA and Canada”.
In spring of 2011, Chamberlain took a leave of absence as CEO of New Era Capital Corp to serve as Commissioner for Finance of oil-rich Rivers State, Nigeria. Daopuye Simon-Ogan was appointed to take the helm.
Dr. Peterside is a member of the Rivers State Economic Advisory Council in the oil-rich Delta region of Nigeria. He is held in high esteem by his peers and regarded in the community as a role model. He keeps his mentorship and humanitarian efforts private.
KARINE PETERSIDE - Executive Assistant to the CEO
Karine Peterside has served as Vice President of Operations of New Era Capital Corp and affiliated companies since 2005. She brings to the company a wide range of knowledge and several years of experience in finance, accounting, information technology and administration in corporate and non-for-profit settings both in the US and abroad. Her supportive role helped New Era Capital Corp to become a formidable investment advisory firm on Wall Street.
Karine began her career in the U.S. as a computer programmer with ASTATA Corporation, a New York-based wireless technology company. She later worked with Digitrade, Incorporated ,a subsidiary of Thomson Financial Corporation, one of the global leaders in real-time financial information and proprietary online trading systems.
Karine graduated with a master’s degree in industrial management from Moscow Textile University in Russia and is fluent in Russian. She also earned a diploma in computer technology from Globe Institute of Technology, New York. Most recently, Mrs. Peterside obtained a Master’s of Public Administration from Kean University in New Jersey.
She lives in New Jersey and is a tireless advocate of quality time with family.DAOPUYE SIMON-OGAN - Senior Advisor & Financial Analyst – US and International Projects
Daopuye Simon-Ogan is Chief Operating Officer of New Era Capital Corp. He has worked in senior level positions at several corporate organizations and philanthropic institutions. Prior to joining New Era Capital Corp, he had attained a level of prominence in his field, with more than 25 years of professional experience in financial management, accounting and tax planning.
Mr. Simon-Ogan holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Howard University and a Master’s of Business Administration in Accounting from the University District of Columbia. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1989.
He started his career as a staff accountant first at Riggs Bank, and then at Perpetual Savings and Loan until he was hired as a senior accountant at Maimonides Medical Center, where he worked for seven years. During this period, he was responsible for filing the corporation annual tax return of over 600 million dollars in asset, monthly revenue accounts analysis, annual external audit, and subsidiary accounting.
After leaving Maimonides, Doapuye worked as a financial service representative at MetLife Insurance, managing clients’ investment portfolios and developing strategies for wealth creation and asset protection.
Mr. Simon-Ogan spent five years as accounting manager at the National Hemophilia Foundation, two of which he served as interim Chief Financial Officer. He was responsible for total financial operations, budget preparation and annual external audit of the company.
In 2006 Mr. Simon-Ogan began to consult for Robert Half International, leading to a position as temporary comptroller at X+1, a medium-sized, 100-million-dollar asset media company. During his tenure at X+1, he supervised the entire financial operations, managing cash inflow and expenditures and successfully guiding the company through a government audit.
Daopuye currently serves as accounting manager/comptroller of the Institute of Applied Human Dynamics. He is primarily focused on revenue and billing analysis, managing the organization’s financial operation, cash management and ration and annual audit. He also supervises other staff.
In addition to his duties at New Era Capital Corp, Mr. Simon-Ogan has run his own financial consulting and tax services firm for eighteen years in New York, where he also manages real estate. He is active in the Howard University Alumni Association, the Association of Black CPAs and other non-profit organizations. He is known for his congeniality and seeks to provide opportunities for the next generation.KUNLE BALOGUN – Financial Analyst - International Projects
Kunle is a Financial Analyst in the international practice of the firm, focused on offshore projects within the African continent. His responsibilities involve playing crucial role in our deal-origination and execution effort on the ground. He assists in analyzing projects, helps in packaging Strategic Business Plans (SBP) and developing financial models/spreadsheets for projects.
Kunle brings to the firm wealth of experience in Financial Analysis and Commercial Banking spanning over 5 years. Prior to his current engagement, Kunle was Bank Executive in Societe Generale Bank Nigeria, where his primary responsibility was working with small and medium sized business owners in analyzing business proposals and structuring loan transactions as well as other financial products to meet their specific needs.
Kunle earned a Bachelors degree in Banking and Finance and holds both and MS degrees and MBA in Finance. He has an excellent working knowledge of financial tech-applications and modeling tools.
CHRIS EJIOFOR – Senior Business Analyst – International Projects
Chris is a highly competent and experienced professional and currently serves as Senior Business Analyst in the international practice of our firm specifically focused on the African continent. He is the principal interface of the firm in the Strategic Advisory Consortium (SAC) alliance as well as other special projects currently being developed by our firm in the infrastructure and oil/gas sectors in Nigeria.
Chris has a diverse background in Banking and Oil/Gas industries where he gained wealth of experience and contacts working with Fidelity Bank PLC during 11 years of service and more recently with Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) where he worked in Marine Logistics Operations as Quality Control Facilitator and Contract Supervisor.
Chris has broad knowledge of technology applications and productivity tools in various environments that he leverages to support our operations and client relations in Africa. He earned Bachelors and Masters degrees in finance and management and currently a member of several professional organizations. Over the years he has attended numerous training courses and programs to enhance his knowledge and productivity.
SERGEY OLHOV: Strategic Technology Advisor
Sergey Olhov – As the Strategic Technology Advisor, Sergey is responsible for advising, helping formulate as well as implement our strategic technology policies. He is also charged with the task of translating the firm’s key technology initiatives into actionable projects and future proprietary software designs, programs and applications.
Sergey is a talented software developer and computer programmer with in-dept knowledge of programming in the financial services industry. His experience includes a stint with major Wall Street financial institutions as a Software Developer and Systems Analyst. He also spent time with major information technology consulting companies where he honed his skills as a creative computer professional.
While in those organizations, Sergey helped develop, test and implement software packages for operating large-scale and institutional real-time stock transactions, client server, order-flow and execution infrastructure. He has been a computer developer and is very conversant with several software programs like JAVA, C, C++, Visual C++ and Unix Network Programming.
Sergey graduated with honors from Riga State Polytechnic University where he earned a MS degree in Engineering and Programming. He previously worked as an electronic systems designer and analyst in the Baltic Republic of Latvia in Europe. He later trained in Globe Institute of Technology, New York, where he received a certificate in computer programming and concurrently served as an instructor.
ATONYE WILCOX: Senior Financial Analyst, CPA – Advisor, Rivers State Government Infrastructure Unit.

Over the last Seventeen years, Ms. Wilcox has held various challenging financial positions ranging from financial sector, engineering, real estate, and telecommunications to public accounting firms within the United States and Nigeria.
Ms. Wilcox was a Partner in Puglisi & Associates (USA), a certified public accounting firm, where her services as a tax, audit/ financial advisor was key to assisting both individuals and corporate clients carry out their financial operations with ease.
Ms. Wilcox decided to bring her skills to Africa, where she held such positions in Nigeria:
- In May 2011, she was appointed Advisor to the Rivers State Infrastructure development unit working in unison with the Public Private Partnership office within the State. This appointment is as a result of her past activities, hard work and indepth knowledge of financial and project management working with various sectors within the country.
- Acting CFO in No.1 African Owned Power Company (Income Electrix, Ltd) where she assisted in maintaining controls, policies & procedures in place, ensured re-engineering of its accounting software and succeeded in obtaining bank loans for the company’s projects operation and working capital at a time of economic breakdown, and stringent lending policies by CBN.
- Admin/ Financial Controller in the First operating credit bureau in Nigeria (Credit Registry Services, Plc). In addition to managing administrative and financial operations of the Company, Ms. Wilcox completed two years audit with external auditors in less than a year which led to holding a successful AGM. She also succeeded in assisting company obtain its Operative License in Principle from CBN.
- Senior Financial Manager at the first fixed wireless telecommunication company in Nigeria (MTS First wireless LTD) where she put in place controls, policies and procedures for the company’s financial processes, and completed 4 years financial audit within 1-year period. She also exhibited vast negotiation skills which translated into millions of Naira savings for the company.
ADEOLA OTUNUGA: Executive Assitant
Adeola currently serves as the Executive Assistant and she liaises directly with clients and other prospective clients.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honors from the prestigious Rutgers University where she majored in Criminal Justice and a minor in Political Science.
She served as student assistant, campus information and conference services while in school. She has worked at several prestigious law firms as Legal assistant and paralegal before accepting the offer to join us. Adeola is highly proficient is several management level software packages and prides herself in having effective time management skills, being multi-tasking, strong analytical and problem solving capabilities as well as strong organizational skills.
She currently lives in New Jersey.
